Custom Aquamarine and sapphire pendant

This new pendant is a custom creation.  The center stone is an Aquamarine cut by David Brackna.  He calls this cut his turkish star.  The accent stones on the face are Aquamarine and Sapphire.  The face and both sides of the back plate have been engraved. This 12-pointed geometry is made of 4 triangles shows how squares and triangles can interrelate.  Look for the squares within the triangles.  Enjoy!

Grossular garnet rings

Red Grossular Garnet Ring.  Size 7
First came the silver ring with a red grossular garnet.  Then came the palladium white gold version with a green one.  These rings have four layer construction with complex partial settings.  These are built to last!  The bands have been built "backwards" so that the seam is at the top of the ring.  This increases the strength of the ring significantly.  The silver ring was created as a practice for the gold one.   Creating a practice ring helps me to work out any kinks in a potential design before committing to gold.  The stones are about 1 carat each.  The green garnet ring is not for sale, as it was a custom ordered engagement ring.  The red garnet ring is however available.  It is a size 7 and is $1125 including insured ups shipping.   Also attached are photos of my original sketch and the final rendering used in production.  Garnets are from Africa.  Enjoy the pictures!  -Andy

Vacation Pink 1-20

When I got to Tucson, AZ for the gem shows this year I realized that I had not brought any pens or paper.  An urge to be creative without reinvesting hugely in supplies (I already had at home) led me to purchasing only three shades of pink and one pad of paper. (20 sheets) While in the supply store I decided that I would do 20 pink mandalas.  This was a first for me.  20 in a series; all to be done while I was away from home.  Working with only three shades 20 times really let me explore different types of mandalas and ways to color them.  This was a very rewarding exercise and I recomend it to anyone that loves to draw.
All of these mandala drawings are on Strathmore bristol 9X12" archival paper.  Inks used are archival as well.  No sketching was done in the creation of these drawings.  I put the ink straight down on the paper by eye.  All of these are originals and will not be reproduced.  Enjoy!!!

.............After about 8 pink drawings I decided that if I could finish all 20 I would rationalize buying 3 green pens..........pictures of 15 green mandalas to follow
